Core Service

    Tile Repair, Regrout & Caulk.
East Brunswick & Middlesex County, NJ.

East Brunswick Handyman handles tile, grout & caulk in East Brunswick, Old Bridge, Sayreville, Edison, Woodbridge, and the rest of Middlesex County. A tired bathroom usually doesn't need a remodel. It needs the black caulk cut out and redone, the grout ground and repacked, the two cracked tiles swapped, and a grab bar anchored into the studs. One visit, no demo, no permit.

    Questions

    Straight Answers

    Regrout or retile?

If the tile is sound and only the grout is cracked, stained, or missing, regrouting brings it back for a fraction of a retile and no demolition. If tiles are loose across a wall, the wall behind them is soft, or water has been getting behind the tile for years, it's a retile, and that's a remodel, which we don't do. We'll tell you straight and you can bring in a bath contractor.

Why does the caulk keep turning black?

Cheap latex caulk, a bathroom that never dries out, or caulk applied over the old caulk instead of after cutting it out. We cut it all out, treat the joint, and use 100% silicone rated for wet areas. It lasts years, not months.

Can you install grab bars in a tiled shower?

Yes. We locate studs behind the tile, drill through the tile with the right bit, and anchor into framing. Where there's no stud where the bar needs to go, we use rated anchors designed for grab bars, not drywall anchors.

Do you replace faucets and toilets while you're there?

Yes, like-for-like: a faucet for a faucet, a toilet on the same flange, a vanity where the piping stays put. NJ's code treats that as ordinary maintenance, no permit. Anything that moves or adds plumbing is a different job for a licensed plumber, and we'll tell you before you buy the parts.
