Conversion Questions.
How much does a tub-to-shower conversion cost?
We quote every conversion as one fixed written price before work starts, covering demo, waterproofing, the new shower, glass, and haul-away. The number depends on the shower system and glass you pick, so we confirm it at the in-home estimate. No hourly meter, no surprise line items.
How long does it take?
Four working days for a standard conversion: day one is demo and prep, days two and three are waterproofing and wall install, day four is glass, trim, and cleanup. You have a working bathroom each night.
Will it hurt resale value to remove a tub?
Keep one tub in the house if you can. If this is your only bathroom, we will talk it through honestly at the estimate. In homes with a second tub, buyers today generally prefer a modern walk-in shower over a rarely used tub.
Is this good for aging in place?
Yes. Stepping over a tub wall is one of the most common fall points in a home. A low-threshold shower with grab bars and a bench removes it. We build those options in from the start rather than bolting them on later.
Do you handle the plumbing and permits?
The conversion reuses the existing valve location wherever possible, which keeps the project inside handyman and remodeling scope. Where a job needs licensed plumbing or a permit, we tell you at the estimate and coordinate it. Nothing gets buried behind a wall without being done right.
