Grab Bar Installation.
Anchored Right. Usually One Visit.
A grab bar that pulls out of the wall is worse than no grab bar at all. East Brunswick Handyman anchors into studs and rated backing, in East Brunswick, Monroe Township, Piscataway, North Brunswick, and Edison homes.
Usually It Is the Kids Who Call.
A close call in the shower, a parent insisting they are fine, and a bathroom that was designed for 1985. Grab bars are the fastest, cheapest change that actually moves the safety needle, and they no longer look institutional. Brushed nickel and matte black bars read as towel bars until the day they are needed.
Installed, Not Improvised.
My wife and I recently purchased a home in a 55+ community in Monroe Township. Unfortunately the home had a major flaw - a laundry room too small to accommodate a modern washer dryer. We hired East Brunswick Handyman to fix this and they did.
If the Tub Is the Real Problem.
Grab bars help, but stepping over a tub wall is still the biggest fall risk in the room. A tub-to-shower conversion removes it entirely, in 4 days at a fixed price.
Grab Bar Questions.
How much does grab bar installation cost?
Most grab bar installs fit inside a standard handyman visit, which covers up to two hours of skilled work. Two or three bars, properly anchored, usually fit in one visit including the walkthrough to pick heights and positions. You get the visit price up front before we schedule.
Can grab bars go into tile or fiberglass?
Yes. Tile, fiberglass surrounds, and drywall each need different anchors, and that is exactly why a professional install matters. A grab bar is only as strong as what it is screwed into. We anchor into studs or use engineered anchors rated far beyond body weight.
Where should grab bars be placed?
The right spots depend on the person using them: shower entry, along the shower wall, beside the toilet, and anywhere there is a step or transition. We do the walkthrough with you, or with your parent, and place bars where hands actually reach, not just where the diagram says.
My parents live in Monroe. Can you work with me remotely?
Yes, this comes up all the time with the 55+ communities in Monroe Township. Adult children often book and pay from out of town. We call you after the walkthrough, confirm the plan and price with you, and send photos when the work is done.
Do you do more than grab bars for aging in place?
Yes. Grab bars are usually the first step. Walk-in showers, tub-to-shower conversions, handheld shower heads, raised toilets, better lighting, and threshold ramps are all part of the same visit conversation if you want them to be.
